Northern Ireland is the most expensive region in the UK when it comes to home insurance, according to data released by price comparison website Go.Compare.
Based on policies purchased through the site in the first quarter of 2023, here are the numbers:

The average cost of a combined home insurance policy, which Go.Compare found has risen consistently since 2021, stood at £162 in Q1 this year. Below are the changes over the recent quarters.
“In 2023 we have continued to see rising costs across the board, from food to fuel and everyday bills, too,” Go.Compare home insurance spokesperson Ceri McMillan said. “The cost-of-living crisis is continuing to have its impact, and insurers are also seeing cost increases in materials and labour.
“Unfortunately, all these factors combined mean increased costs in a range of areas – including our home insurance.”
