Markerstudy Insurance Services has appointed Andy Squires as head of household underwriting. He reports to Will James, head of technical underwriting.
Squires has been in the insurance industry for more than 30 years, having held roles in underwriting, pricing and distribution. He joined Markerstudy from Car Care Plan Insurance, where he was underwriting manager. He also held senior roles at RSA, Folgate, Towergate, Fortis/Ageas and Integra Insurance Solutions.
“It’s great to be able to bring someone of Andy’s experience and calibre into the team at a time when demand for senior underwriters far outstrips supply in our industry,” James said. “Our strategy is to nurture and develop our homegrown talent, and senior appointments such as Andy are hugely beneficial to our mentoring programmes.”
At the start of the year, Markerstudy acquired BGL Insurance in a move that will greatly increase its market footprint and headcount in the UK.
