Lorega is attempting to broaden its services to policyholders with the launch of a dedicated building surveying service – one that can help manage property reinstatement should a claim prove necessary.
Typically, home and business property insurance takes into account the cost of engineers’ and surveyors’ fees that may be necessary to replace or restore property should a fire or other damage occur. However, policyholders are left with the issue of identifying the professionals needed to oversee and carry out this work.
Now, Lorega hopes to offer a different proposition by giving the policyholder access to expert chartered surveyors who can guide them through the process.
“Offering access to professional surveying support at the outset of the claims process removes the burden from claimants to source quotes and find a suitably experienced surveyor to manage reinstatement,” said Angus Tucker, managing director of Lorega Solutions. “The launch of Lorega Building Surveying Services enhances our suite of Expert Services for policyholders and demonstrates our overall commitment to providing expert help to minimise the impact, costs and disruption of a property damage claim.”
The idea is that the surveyor will work alongside the Chartered Loss Adjuster appointed by Lorega, on behalf of the policyholder, and help with the preparation and presentation of a claim by obtaining quotes for building work, and then managing the reinstatement process.
