In a move to further expand its presence in the UK, global insurer Allianz has unveiled a new home insurance product featuring three tiers of coverage: bronze, silver, and gold. The product aims to offer greater flexibility and options for UK homeowners as part of the company’s growth plan.
The comprehensive offering, accessible via Allianz’s website and external comparison sites, provides standard coverage for fire, storm, flood, and subsidence. Additional protections, such as home emergency and legal expenses, are available as optional add-ons or included in the gold tier. Allianz’s home insurance bundles buildings and contents coverage while allowing customers to select the level that fits their needs.
Key features include alternative accommodation in case of inhabitable home due to incidents like flooding and fire, with coverage from £30,000 to £100,000 for buildings insurance and rebuild costs ranging from £500,000 to £1 million; contents insurance starting at £50,000 under the bronze tier, extending up to £150,000 with the gold tier; and automatic coverage for bicycles up to £350 across all tiers, with options to specify personal belongings for coverage outside the home.
Additionally, insureds can modify their policies without incurring administrative fees and benefit from a round-the-clock UK claims line for straightforward assistance.
The new home insurance product marks the latest in Allianz’s UK personal lines offerings, following the rebranding of its digital car insurance in March and its personal lines broker business in May. The British market boost leverages the Munich-headquartered group’s status as the world’s top insurance brand, as ranked by Interbrand.
Serge Raffard (pictured), managing director at Allianz Personal, stated: “We’re very excited to launch our new home insurance product into the UK personal lines market, and provide more choice for customers who are looking for great value protection for their home.
“We want our customers to feel in control, which is why at the touch of a button they can manage their policy online and make changes without admin fees. We also understand customers may want to speak to someone to make a claim, which is why our product comes with a 24-hour UK claims line which is simple and straightforward to use.”
Highlighting the brand’s expansion, Raffard added: “We’re extremely excited to extend the Allianz brand to UK consumers, and launching insurance for their homes and cars is a big step in our long-term strategy. This is the next part of our Allianz journey, and we’re proud to provide cover from the number one global insurance brand to UK consumers.”
