Global provider Sompo International has made two key appointments for its insurance operations in Germany and Austria.
Joining from HDI Versicherung in September is Malte Dittmann (pictured above), who will serve as insurance country manager for Germany and Austria while based in Cologne. Meanwhile Annette Wolff (pictured below), who has been with Sompo International since January 2022, is taking on the role of professional lines insurance head.
“Annette brings a great combination of underwriting and leadership skills to her new position,” commented Continental Europe insurance president Ralph Brand in an emailed release.
“Together with a growing team of experienced professional lines underwriters, she will lead our efforts to continue strengthening our offerings and services in this important line of business.”
As for the external hire, Brand had this to say: “Germany and Austria are key growth areas for Sompo International, and Malte’s strong leadership skills, extensive industry experience and market knowledge will be pivotal in taking our business, across these countries, to the next level.
“I’m truly looking forward to working with Malte as we further build and strengthen our relationships with brokers and clients in Germany and Austria and develop solutions that address their needs.”
