Marsh Commercial has struck a major deal with domiciliary care group, Bluebird Care.
The risk management and insurance adviser will provide the group’s 200 franchisees across the UK with an enhanced insurance offering designed to address the evolving landscape for live-in carers amid COVID-19. With Bluebird Care providing 20,000 home visits a day to the vulnerable and elderly, it will now benefit from cover for professional indemnity, medical malpractice and mistreatment. There will also be retroactive cover for liability insurance and preferential new business premiums.
“We are delighted that Marsh Commercial will be supporting Bluebird Care with our insurance solutions, especially with their proven experience working with the care sector,” said Bluebird Care UK finance director and acting managing director Wayne Smith. “As a large franchise network, our businesses have varying needs and requirements right across the UK so having access to their dedicated team’s wealth of knowledge and advice is vitally important for us. Everyone at Bluebird Care is looking forward to developing our relationship over the coming months and years ahead.”
According to Chris Barclay, sales director and head of Marsh Commercial’s centre of excellence in Leeds, the deal reflects the fact that the company offers an exclusive range of schemes through a dedicated health and care practice.
“We have been operating in the heath and care sector for over 25 years and our knowledge on the issues that the sector faces is unparalleled,” he said. “Our specialist team is looking forward to providing the benefit of our decades of experience to Bluebird Care’s franchise network.”
