Brokerage giant Marsh has tapped a senior executive from within the firm to serve as UK financial and professional practice (FINPRO) leader.
Paul Denny, who has been with Marsh since 1989, has made the rounds – serving in senior positions in London, Boston, Chicago, and New York. He most recently held the roles of Northeast US FINPRO leader and US errors & omissions leader.
In his new designation, under UK specialties division chief executive Paul Moody, Denny will be in charge of managing Marsh’s management liability, financial services, professional liability, and specie risk teams in the UK.
“The financial and reputational consequences of successful cyberattacks, increased regulation, and the consequences of Brexit are just some of the major risks currently facing professional services firms and financial institutions in the UK,” noted the industry veteran. “I am excited to return to London to lead the UK FINPRO practice and enable Marsh’s clients to manage these risks more effectively.”
In the US Denny worked extensively with professional service firms and financial institutions on their professional liability and cyber risk programmes.
“UK business leaders are faced with an increasingly complex array of risks, as a result of issues such as hacking and data breaches, growing international regulatory collaboration, and the impending roll-out of the Senior Managers Regime to almost all UK-regulated firms,” commented Moody. “Paul’s considerable experience will be invaluable to our UK clients, as we continue to invest in our UK specialties business.”
A wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies, the insurance broking and risk management heavyweight employs over 30,000 people worldwide.
