First it was Guernsey; now it’s Jersey’s turn to welcome Ed.
The Jersey Financial Services Commission has granted the global wholesale insurance and reinsurance broker a license to carry out general insurance mediation business, as Ed continues to expand its professional & executive risk offering. Last year it received a commercial insurance intermediary license from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.
“This [Jersey] license significantly strengthens our ability to expand our offering in the Channel Islands region and build upon our services to new and existing clients,” commented Guernsey-based Nick Bachmann, divisional director of professional & executive risk at Ed. “Increasing our presence in offshore centres, and strengthening our abilities to service clients in these markets, is central to our growth strategy.”
Bachmann, who previously managed Willis Towers Watson’s financial & professional risks business in the Channel Islands, came onboard last year to direct Ed’s expansion.
“Nick has now established himself as a key member of the professional & executive risk team at Ed,” said Paul Richards, managing director of professional & executive risk at the Lloyd’s broker. “His local presence in the Channel Islands, combined with our team’s collective expertise and understanding of international financial markets, makes the region the perfect place for the expansion of our professional & executive risk offering.”
