Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has appointed David Harries as its newest executive underwriter of executive and professional (E&P) lines in the UK.
Harries will be based in London in his new role.
“David will play a key role as we continue to expand our executive and professional lines portfolio, and we are pleased to welcome him to our team,” said BHSI head of E&P, UK Vanessa Maxwell. “His great depth and breadth of underwriting and leadership experience further elevates our ability to problem-solve with customers and deliver highly customized solutions, backed by unparalleled financial strength and claims service.”
Harries has over three decades of experience in both Lloyd’s and company markets in the UK. He was most recently serving as an active underwriter DCH386 and head of financial lines at QBE Insurance. Harries received his bachelor’s degree from Queen Mary University of London.

The move comes on the back of BHSI welcoming Camille Luciani, former customer & distribution manager for France at Swiss Re, as its new head of customer & broker engagement for BHSI’s French operations.
