Trustee Josh Brekenfeld (pictured) has been appointed as board chair of The Insurance Charities.
“With the challenges presented by the rising cost-of-living showing no sign of improving, I believe our charity is more relevant than ever,” stated Brekenfeld, who succeeds John Greenway.
“I’m looking forward to working with the staff team, trustees, and committee members to continue providing vital support where it’s needed throughout the UK and Ireland.”
Meanwhile Lisa Bartlett, Mary Bowie, Paul Buckle, Debbie Bullock, Caroline Dungar, Michael Gaughan, and Paul Howard have been installed in different committees. They come from Crawford & Company, Miller Insurance Services, Morning Data, Aviva, Yorkshire Building Society, Insurecore Ltd, and AXA XL, respectively.
“I am so pleased to welcome our new appointees who have committed their time and expertise to our dedicated industry charity,” commented The Insurance Charities chief executive Joy Thornicroft.
“This latest recruitment demonstrates our commitment to ensuring our board and committees reflect the diversity and breadth of the industry. We also have direct access to a wealth of skills and knowledge to help us deliver support to our beneficiaries and reach those in the industry who really need us.”
Meanwhile Greenway, who retired as chair this week, said the past six years had been an honour and a pleasure. He also wished the board “every success” for the future.
