Claims management giant Sedgwick has partnered with multiple charitable organisations in the UK to demonstrate its commitment to helping communities and to strengthening the impact of its corporate citizenship activities across the country.

Sedgwick is the first loss adjusting and insurance services firm in the UK to sign the Race at Work Charter and support the initiative led by Business in the Community (BITC) – expanding its commitment to promoting diversity across all levels of the company, prioritising racial equality, and placing diversity and inclusion at the centre of its work culture.

Commenting on the new partnership, BITC race equality director Sandra Kerr CBE said: “We would like to thank Sedgwick for setting out their commitment to being an inclusive and responsible employer. By signing the charter, they are showing they aspire to have one of the most inclusive workplaces in the country.

“Together, we can break down barriers in the workplace, raise the aspirations and achievements of talented individuals, and deliver an enormous boost to the long-term economic position of the UK.”

Sedgwick has also secured partnerships with:

  • Social Enterprise UK: It helps develop social and environmental programs with some of the biggest companies in the country. As part of the partnership, Sedgwick vows to operate ethically, protect the environment, and support colleagues and communities across the country.
  • Renaisi: It helps refugees return to employment, including professionals from various disciplines who have skills in great demand in the UK. The partnership allows Sedgwick to interview and consider candidates for relevant positions, benefitting the business and highlighting a new pool of skilled people who often do not receive ample opportunities.
  • Recycling Lives: It provides skips, waste bag collections, and “man and van” collections to support social and charitable programs. It also focuses on food redistribution, offender rehabilitation, job creation, and tackling homelessness. As part of the partnership, contractors in Sedgwick’s repair solutions network will use the skip service on clients’ insurance repair projects to increase their use across different types of professional activity.
  • Paint 360: It recycles and re-engineers water-based paints into new products using a workforce of disadvantaged young people. The partnership allows Sedgwick to introduce the use of Paint 360 products into their repairs following a pilot that confirmed that the quality matches that of major brands.

Paul White, the chief executive officer at Sedgwick UK, commented: “We are extremely proud to be working with important organisations and social enterprises to further expand our contributions to good causes and strengthen our social commitment across the country.

“At Sedgwick, we believe caring counts. It is our way of doing business, and we strive to improve a little more every day and give more back to the community. It is important to support organisations that dedicate themselves to promoting social enterprises.”

Commenting on being the first loss adjusting and claims management company to sign the Race at Work Charter, White said: “We believe increasing diversity across the business plays a pivotal role in strengthening our position in the market and supporting our vision for growth and future success.”
