The coronavirus lockdown has brought out the best in the insurance industry – but it’s not just the big names that are playing their part with donations to the cause.
Independent insurance broking group One Broker has made a significant donation to one firm’s COVID-19 campaign. The broker, which has offices in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk, has named Papworth Trust as its charity of the year and its employees have, ever since, been engaging in a host of activities including inter-team quizzes, races, challenges and cake sales.
Now it has decided to make an early donation in light of the current coronavirus pandemic.
“At One Broker, we’re committed to giving something back to the communities in which we work,” explained group managing director Sean Clark. “In recent weeks, it became evident that Papworth Trust needed our support now more than ever – and I’m pleased to say that by donating the funds we’ve raised so far, we could provide assistance at a critical time.”
Meanwhile, corporate partnership fundraiser Jo Revitt said they “cannot thank” the broker group enough.
“Maintaining support, learning and development for our clients is essential during this time, as is visual contact – albeit remotely – which is enabling us to reduce the feelings of isolation that many of them are currently encountering,” said Revitt.
“These funds will support our appeal to provide technology and data for those who don’t have it, and activity packs focusing on independent living skills, so that we can cook, garden and get involved in arts and crafts during our remote sessions together.”
