Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, announced the winners of the Liberty Challenge Cup, which saw teams from across the London Market engaging in friendly competition while raising funds for charitable causes and building their professional networks.
Building on the success of its inaugural year, the Liberty Challenge Cup returned for a second time to provide young members of the London Market with an opportunity to forge connections in a relaxed setting. Teams composed of brokers, underwriters, and other key market professionals competed in four networking events, all in the name of supporting their chosen charities.
This year’s winners were awarded £5,000 for their designated charity, while the runners-up and third-placed teams received £3,000 and £1,000 respectively. Each participating team was also granted £500 to contribute to their charity.
Expressing his gratitude to all participants for their involvement and generous contributions, Richard Barrass, broker account manager - commercial at LSM, highlighted the significance of relationships in the insurance industry.
“Insurance revolves around relationships, and it has been our pleasure to help our players to make connections that will be invaluable to them as they progress through their careers in this fantastic industry,” he said.
Barras also extended his congratulations to the winning team Taking the Liberty and their chosen charity, Cardiac Risk in the Young.
LSM teamed up with comedian Rob Beckett to announce the 2023 winners of the Liberty Challenge Cup. The announcement was made at the LSM office in the Walkie-Talkie building.
In last year’s event, team No Paine, No Gain won the £5,000 prize for the charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
