Children’s charity James Hopkins Trust has been declared the winner of a £10,000 grant from Lansdown Insurance Brokers, which this month held its inaugural Lansdown Giving charity luncheon in Cheltenham.
Nine finalists, meanwhile, received a combined £5,000.
These are Vale Wildlife Rescue (£1,000), Sunflowers Suicide Support (£850), Mindsong (£750), Cotswold Riding for the Disabled Association (£650), Gloucestershire Animal Welfare Association/Cheltenham Animal Shelter (£550), Gloucestershire Young Carers (£450), Gloucestershire Deaf Association (£350), The Barn Owl Centre (£250), and CCP Cheltenham (£150).
“I’ve been general manager at Lansdown for the last two years and it is with great pride that we are able to make these grants totalling £15,000 to charities voted for by our clients and the general public,” stated Darren Bee (pictured, right).
“This campaign is something completely new to us, and it’s fantastic to see so many people getting involved; we had nearly 8,000 votes!”
To ensure that the funds will go towards making a difference to the broker’s local area, the grants have to be used to benefit the Gloucestershire community.
