Preparations are underway for the Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD) campaign’s next Insurance Day of Giving, which is going to be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022.
In a Press release, IUAD noted that the Insurance Day of Giving is an opportunity for the industry to unite to fundraise and raise awareness of dementia. Businesses across the sector including AXA UK, AXA XL, WTW, Crawford & Company, Sedgwick and Aviva have already committed to taking part on the day.
While last year many firms had to think out of the box to plan fundraising ideas, IUAD revealed that this year it has launched a virtual balloon race to make it easy for everyone to take part.
Richard Dudley, global head of climate strategy at Aon and chair of the IUAD Board, highlighted that the campaign is very grateful for the generous support of the industry when it comes to supporting Alzheimer’s Society and IUAD.
“There are 900,000 people living with dementia in our society today,” he said, “and it’s vital now more than ever before to help Alzheimer’s Society raise funds to continue work within the research space to create a hope for a better tomorrow.”
The virtual balloon race is now live and everyone can take part, with every donation and contribution going towards making a tangible difference in the lives of people living with dementia. The 2021 campaign saw the industry come together to mark Insurance Day of Giving, raising £150,000 for the cause.
IUAD highlighted that the day represents a “brilliant opportunity” to bring teams, firms and businesses together in a moment to unite for a great cause.
The Insurance United Against Dementia campaign is an Alzheimer’s Society initiative championed by leaders from across the insurance ecosystem who have joined the Society’s movement to raise awareness and change the lives of people with dementia.
Registration for the IUAD Virtual Balloon Race 2022 is open now.
