Insurance peers trek across the Pyrenees for fundraising

Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD), which has already raised £9 million and is aiming to reach £10 million this year for Alzheimer’s Society, has begun its Insure Trek 2024.

The June 14-18 fundraising event involves insurance executives who have taken on the challenge of trekking across the Pyrenees for 10 hours a day to help raise money towards dementia research.

Those currently participating in Insure Trek 2024 are the following:

  • Chris Park, Alzheimer’s Society

  • Owen Thomas, Premium Credit
  • Jamie Thompson, QBE
  • Doug Walker, QBE
  • Chris Wallace, QBE
  • Alison Waters, Howden
  • Sam White, Freedom Services Group

IUAD said on LinkedIn: “All funds raised from Insure Trek 2024 will enable Alzheimer’s Society to continue investing in dementia research and the research leaders of the future.”

Meanwhile, according to QBE, it will be matching the funds raised by its team.
