The Community Transport Association (CTA) has announced the appointment of Business Choice Direct (BCD) Insurances Services and WRS Insurance Brokers as its new insurance partners to support the needs of its members in the whole UK.

CTA, a UK-based charity, provides leadership training, advice, and operational support to transport-related charities, community groups, and social enterprises in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

As insurance partners, BCD and WRS will provide community transport operators with insurance services and products focusing on transport and charity cover. BCD has over 20 years of experience in transport logistics and is a specialist insurer for non-standard motor insurance.

Meanwhile, BCD and WRS, both part of the Benefact Group, have already provided thousands of charities and non-profits across the UK with insurance advice. Both companies offer fundraising support, including grant applications, help with ethical investments via Eden Tree, and charity risk management advice and articles.

CTA partnership

CTA leadership is positive that this partnership will benefit all stakeholders.

“CTA is excited to work with BCD and WRS, part of the Benefact Group, to be able to offer our members specialist non-standard motor and charity insurance on a whole new level,” said Dr. Victoria Armstrong, chief executive at CTA. “BCD and WRS bring a wealth of knowledge and experience about the community transport sector and with access to a range of insurance products and additional advice resources, we are confident our members will find not only the cover they need but also peace of mind, support, and quality customer service.”

BCD commercial director Tristan Scaife also shared his enthusiasm for the new partnership.

“We are delighted that by working in tandem with WRS Insurance Brokers, we now have the opportunity to support CTA members with appropriate, cost-effective insurance solutions, such as fleet, minibus, and charity cover, so they can continue to serve their local communities, building stronger and more inclusive transport links,” Scaife said.

Meanwhile, Gungor Baykan, head of broking and operations for WRS, said that their commitment goes beyond providing insurance and focuses on empowering organisations that serve the community.
