Chris Knott Insurance has successfully raised £560 for The Hygiene Bank Hastings, a grassroots charity that provides hygiene, personal care, and household cleaning products to those who need them across the UK.
The funds will be used by the charity to buy additional hygiene products such as toothpaste, shampoo and deodorants, with the majority of the items to be distributed to local primary schools, refuges, and food banks in the Hastings and Bexhill-on-Sea areas.
Established in 2018 by the Hastings-based broker, The Hygiene Bank Hastings is led by director Alison Acland and managed by company volunteers. So far, they have distributed more than 4.2 tonnes of personal and household hygiene products, supporting more than 16 local community groups.
Acland thanked everyone who contributed to the Christmas campaign. “The funds will allow us to continue our work supporting the local community,” she said. “Far too many people are having to choose between paying the rent, paying for food, or paying for basic hygiene products. Not only does it affect their physical health, but their mental wellbeing and confidence too. Access to The Hygiene Bank Hastings means they don’t have to choose.”
Amy Thompson, partnership manager at The Hygiene Bank’s head office, also commented: “We’re delighted to hear that Chris Knott Insurance raised so much over the festive period. We are unbelievably proud of our Hastings grassroots team and cannot express our gratitude enough for the impact they make on their community.”
