JM Glendinning Insurance Brokers, of the JMG Group, has launched a new division.
The new JM Glendinning Community Risk Solutions business will help manage the risk and insurance requirements of organisations delivering services to communities, such as registered providers of social housing, care providers, and charities.
JMG Group’s creation of the new division comes after it appointed Gary Newlyn (pictured) as managing director. With 20 years of experience, Newlyn joined JMG from Zurich Municipal, Zurich’s public sector business. At Zurich, he led the company’s national social housing sales and account management team.
“Organisations providing critical services to our communities do an incredible job in ensuring our country and communities thrive,” said Newlyn. “Our venture will help solve some of their risk and insurance problems and help to give them peace of mind, meaning that they can focus on doing more of the good work they do. We will deliver fresh thinking and greater innovation for the benefit of customers and our insurance partners.”
Newlyn added that acting with integrity was “very important” to him, and that he cares for the people who rely on him – whether they are customers, colleagues, friends, or family.
“In business this translates to providing excellent customer service, solving problems for people and supporting employee development and I truly believe this helps create the right conditions for growth,” the managing director explained. “The best part is that I know that these are values which JM Glendinning also holds dear.”
“Gary’s expertise and experience with registered social housing providers, charities and other public benefit organisations means he is best placed to understand the challenges they face as well as the value they add to our communities,” added JM Glendinning Insurance Brokers group managing director Jake Fox. “Gary’s appointment perfectly reflects our strategy to find and recruit the very best in the industry and build strong businesses around them. I am certain that his personal qualities, experience and desire to build a reputable business in this specialist area will serve him extremely well.”
