Broker Network, which has Mind among the third sector organisations it is supporting this year, has raised money for the mental health charity through the Pedal for the Medal event.
The fundraising initiative involved spin bikes, Broker Network’s head office reception in Knaresborough, and about 440 miles.
“The team took to their saddles to cycle from Newcastle to Sussex, metaphorically stopping at members’ offices along the way,” noted the network. “The 12-hour challenge saw 44 members of staff each cycle an average of 13km in a bid to reach the goal of 400 miles and raising over £1,500.”
We're overwhelmed by everyone's generosity in supporting our #TourDeNetwork challenge in aid of @MindinHarrogate! A big thank you to everyone who sponsored us, @BeckwithGym for donating the bikes and our staff for their amazing effort! #FeelGoodFriday #LifeatBN pic.twitter.com/1NR472Ek9W

“Mental health is the core essence of wellbeing,” commented Bravo Group chief executive Des O’Connor. “You can be physically fit but if you’re not mentally fit nothing else matters, which is why raising awareness for mental wellness is so important.
“For so many of our people to take time out of their day and endure a gruelling session on the bike shows how much our staff and people care. Mental health is firmly on the agenda for Bravo Group and we continue to promote initiatives that encourage our people to keep talking.”
