It’s only been five months since Allianz UK partnered with Mind, and already the insurer has raised £150,000 for the mental health charity.
According to Allianz Insurance, its employees have taken on several fundraising activities since March such as Tough Mudder (pictured, the Allianz team), the Isle of Wight Challenge, ‘Crafternoons’, and white water rafting in Southampton.
In addition, the Allianz workforce has donated in excess of 400 bags of clothing to the Mind shops as part of the Big Spring Clean. Also, next month a group will take part in a cycling event from London to Amsterdam.
“We’re delighted to see such great enthusiasm and engagement from employees around our new charity partnership,” commented Allianz Insurance brand marketing and social responsibility head Carolyn Rich. “We know from our employee vote that mental health is a topic which people feel passionately about and this has been further demonstrated by their fundraising activities.”
Mind became a charity partner of Allianz after being chosen by 41% of the staff.
Rich added: “The £150,000 raised in the first few months is great progress towards our £1 million target. I look forward to seeing more fundraising events taking place and continuing our work towards increasing resilience in young people.”
Mind corporate partnerships head Emma Ihsan, meanwhile, expressed the charity’s gratitude for the support from Allianz.
“It’s great to hear about some of the fantastic ways staff are fundraising,” said Ihsan. “The funds raised will go towards Mind’s work with children, young people, and adults to help them develop the skills and tools they need to manage their mental health.”
