AbbeyAutoline, Northern Ireland’s largest insurance broker, has announced the launch of its new community-based programme called “50 Ways of Giving Back” just in time for its 50th anniversary.
According to the broker, the programme aims to support 50 charities and voluntary organisations across the region in 2023. AbbeyAutoline staff across the broker’s 15 branches, working together to perform meaningful community service, will support charity organisations in completing as many as 50 projects.
A dozen projects have already been set, including a clean-up of White Rocks Beach in Portrush; a fundraising drive for Baby Basics, an organisation supporting struggling mothers and families caring for newborn babies; and hosting a coffee morning event for The Greater Village Regeneration Trust Community Fridge, which aimed at reducing food waste and ease cost of living pressures for residents.
"As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we are incredibly proud to launch this remarkable community-based programme. We believe in giving back to communities across Northern Ireland who have supported us throughout our journey, and our '50 Ways of Giving Back' campaign allows us to do that,” said Julie Gibbons, managing director at AbbeyAutoline. “Our dedicated staff members will have the opportunity to make a real difference in their local communities. Whether it’s rejuvenating a local community garden, volunteering at an animal shelter, participating in beach clean-ups or organising a blood drive, we are determined to leave a lasting positive impact with the people we serve.”
The programme follows the success of the broker’s “50k in May” challenge, which saw over £4,000 in funds raised for AWARE NI by walking, running, biking, or hiking 50 kms i May. In addition, AbbeyAutoline also partnered with the Northern Ireland Hospice to complete 50 hours of volunteer work to support the advocacy of the charity.
