Commercial insurance broker Thompson and Co (Risk Solutions) Holdings, a family business in Solihull that rebranded in 2019 and currently trades as Thompson Insurance Brokers, is now 100% owned by Brown & Brown’s Global Risk Partners.
“The concept of team is clearly an important criterion for us, and the emphasis placed on becoming part of a team of businesses, a core part of the Brown & Brown ethos, made us very comfortable with the opportunity early on in our discussions with the GRP team,” said Paul Thompson, who founded the West Midlands business in 1987.
Headed by Thompson and fellow directors Baljit Thompson and Jennie Sutcliffe, the Thompson Insurance Brokers roster will remain intact and continue to operate from the company’s premises at Lumaneri House in Blythe Valley Park.
“[Thompson Insurance Brokers] is a well-run intergenerational family broker with very close links to the community it serves,” commented GRP mergers & acquisitions head Stephen Ross. “The team is ambitious for future growth, and we’re delighted that all are staying on to take the business to the next stage of its development.”
The finalised deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, will see Thompson Insurance Brokers join the Retail North division at GRP.
