Greenwood Moreland has continued to grow its presence in Scotland by acquiring Calcluth & Sangster Insurance Brokers for an undisclosed sum.
The move represents Greenwood Moreland’s biggest acquisition since the company began on its growth path and is set to bring £6 million of gross written premium to the business.
As part of the transaction, the existing team at Calcluth & Sangster Insurance Brokers will join Greenwood Moreland, with both firms operating under the Greenwood Moreland brand within the JMG Group.
The acquisition also serves as a succession plan for Calcluth & Sangster Insurance Brokers, allowing it to leverage Greenwood Moreland’s enhanced trading and operational capabilities.
Glasgow-based Calcluth & Sangster Insurance Brokers provides commercial and personal lines insurance, in addition to specialising in club insurance. It was established in 1977 in Cardonald and employs a 16-member team.
Owner Stuart McGregor will lead the business as part of Greenwood Moreland, while co-owner Sandy McArthur will assist in transitioning client relationships over the coming year.

Greenwood Moreland now operates from seven offices, including its newly acquired premises in Glasgow. The business provides general insurance solutions to both commercial and personal lines clients. It also specialises in serving the charity and faith sector.
