The global broking powerhouse Gallagher has today revealed its acquisition of Erimus Group Limited (Erimus).
Founded in 1986, Stockon-on-Tees-based Erimus is an established retail broker with a strong presence in the North East of England, serving a mainly regional commercial client base. The firm, which was previously privately owned, has around 2,500 clients and employs about 40 risk professionals.
The deal adds to Gallagher’s already extensive branch network across the UK and will bring further quality and scale to the group’s operations in the North East, while building on its existing presence in Newcastle. Group CEO Paul Davison and MD Lee Elgie will continue to oversee the business, as supported by the current team.
Commenting on the acquisition, Michael Rea, CEO of Gallagher’s Retail Division, UK & Ireland, said he was delighted to welcome Davison, Elgie and all the team to Gallagher. The business is a great fit with Gallagher’s UK Retail proposition, he said, and provides an excellent opportunity for the division to expand its regional presence. He also noted that Erimus’s focus on client service excellence mirrors Gallagher’s approach to doing business.
