Global Risk Partners (GRP)’s County Group has today revealed that its M&A pipeline is not drying up anytime soon with its acquisition of Business Insurance Specialists (BIS).
Llandudno-based BIS is a commercial broker specialising in insurance for the motor trade and construction. The transaction has received regulatory approval and the consideration is undisclosed.
Commenting on the deal which is the latest in a series of successful M&A transactions County has completed in 2022, CEO Alastair Christopherson said BIS is an excellent addition to the broking hub’s portfolio and will enhance the group’s presence in North Wales.
“This deal is the fifth we have completed this year and demonstrates our ambition to grow through acquisition as well as organically,” he said. “BIS is a well-respected local business, and we welcome Roger Stevens (MD), fellow director Andrew Halstead and their team to the group.”
Christopherson noted that all BIS’s staff, including the directors, will continue with the business and the office in Llandudno will remain open for business.
Stevens also commented on the deal and highlighted that he is a “strong admirer” of County and feels confident that the group will prove to be the best possible custodian for BIS, its people and its clients.
He said: “We fully intend to take advantage of the additional firepower provided by County and GRP to enhance the products and services we provide our clients and achieve substantial further growth for the business under new ownership.”
Christopherson added that he remains keen to talk to vendors considering their exit options or looking to accelerate their growth as part of a larger group.
