Specialist re/insurance broker McGill and Partners has forayed into ports and terminals, expanding the company’s marine proposition with the formation of a new team.
Hired as ports and terminals head is Julien Hubbard, who joins from Tysers and brings more than three decades of marine insurance experience. Hubbard’s team will consist of Elena Stefanova, Mark McKinnell, Dan Green, Daniel Wells, and Alex Jonesco.
Stefanova came onboard last month; McKinnell and Green in June 2022; and Wells and Jonesco, last April. They all made the switch from Tysers, except for Wells who was with Associated British Ports.
“I am looking forward to heading up this immensely capable team and expanding McGill and Partners’ marine team with this new line of business,” said Hubbard in a release sent to Insurance Business.
“It is an exciting time to join a firm that is going from strength to strength. I look forward to being part of the wider team as we continue to broaden the scope of what McGill and Partners offers its clients and partners.”
Marine and cargo head Gordon Longley called the team “dedicated experts” with a wealth of experience in ports and terminals. Longley added that he looks forward to working with them as they “play their part” in the broker’s growth.
