Munich Re UK Life, part of the world’s biggest reinsurance group, is back as a member of the Association of British Insurers (ABI).
Announcing its return, the Munich Re unit said the ABI membership fortifies the company’s commitment to the UK protection market. It cited the key benefits of being part of the trade body, including improved insight into market thinking and the ability to influence industry discussions.
Protection head Adrian Stevenson said the branch looks forward to playing its part in delivering on societal outcomes and shaping policy development.
ABI director general Hannah Gurga commented: “On behalf of us all at the ABI, we welcome Munich Re to our membership. They share our ambition to protect and build a thriving society, and their experience will make a great contribution to our collective work.”
It’s unclear when Munich Re UK Life first became an ABI member and why it previously left the association.
