Dale Willetts (pictured), whose industry experience spans three decades, has been hired by managing general underwriter Carbon Underwriting as head of specialty.
“I am delighted that Dale has joined us to take up this key role,” Carbon chief executive Nick Tye said in a release. “His deep understanding of the market, breadth of insurance knowledge, and proven track record in senior leadership roles make him ideally placed to develop our capabilities across the specialty portfolio.
“He will be a valuable addition to our leadership team, and I know that we will benefit enormously from his expertise, insights, and business acumen.”
Commenting on his appointment, Willetts said: “I am thrilled to be joining Carbon at such an exciting time in its development. The company’s focus on transforming the delegating underwriting market by implementing superior in-house technology that supports quality underwriting, the ambition of its people, and the entrepreneurial culture made my decision to join the business extremely easy.

According to the MGU, which is aiming for significant premium growth in 2024, Willetts’ focus this year will be on spearheading the development of Carbon’s accident & health proposition.
