Private medical insurer (PMI) AXA Health has expanded its proposition by acquiring online outpatient services provider HBSUK for an undisclosed sum.
The integration of HBSUK, an existing AXA Health partner, into the wider insurer’s operations aims to enhance PMI members’ access to clinician care through the fast and convenient delivery of safe and effective care.
“AXA Health will build on the existing relationship and accelerate the development of the online muscles, bones, and joints service, which achieves high levels of member satisfaction,” the company said. “In the future, AXA Health intends to expand the services to allow more choice, flexibility, and value.”
An approved NHS England provider, HBSUK also works towards supporting the public healthcare system by providing out-of-hours on-site medical and clinical services, helping reduce NHS wait times.
“I’m delighted to welcome HBSUK colleagues to AXA and look forward to working together to continue to improve healthcare services for private and NHS patients,” AXA UK&I chief executive Tara Foley commented.
Foley cited the acquisition as a testament to AXA’s dedication to supporting members and ensuring they have swift access to necessary care. Foley emphasized the role of digital platforms in improving service efficiency and aligning with AXA’s goals for high-quality offerings.
Echoing this sentiment, Dave Mezher, CEO of HBSUK, shared his optimism about joining forces with AXA Health. He highlighted the potential for accelerated service development to achieve better health outcomes across various specialisms.
Looking forward to a promising future with AXA Health, Mezher also reaffirmed his camp’s commitment to maintaining high service standards for NHS patients.
