Legal and business services provider DWF has bolstered its insurance division by adding a new partner to its ranks.
The firm has announced the recruitment of disease and casualty specialist David Wynn (pictured above) as a new partner for the practice.
Wynn, previously at the helm of Clyde & Co’s global legacy solutions practice, brings over a decade of experience in advising an array of global insurers, reinsurers, run-off specialists, and multinational corporations on industrial disease and casualty claims.
Wynn’s expertise lies in the early and commercial resolution of occupational disease claims, both short and long tail, with proficiency in Mesothelioma claims. Over the past 10 years, he has provided legal advice on legacy portfolio transfers.
His focus also extends to legacy issues pertinent to the chemical, mining, and construction industries, alongside a professional interest in identifying and addressing emerging risks for insurers and the industry at large.
“I have watched DWF grow over the last 20 years to become a global legal business with a highly respected insurance offering,” Wynn said. “I am thrilled to join DWF in its new chapter with Inflexion’s support, which will continue to drive DWF’s ambitious expansion plans. I will be complementing the team with key expertise on casualty and a specialism in legacy casualty.”
In his new role at DWF, Wynn will serve as the head of casualty in the Manchester office and assume the position of global head of legacy within the firm’s insurance services division.
Glyn Jones, head of insurance legal services at DWF, expressed his enthusiasm for Wynn’s appointment.
“I am delighted to welcome David to DWF,” Jones said. “David has a fantastic reputation in the casualty and disease market, particularly the legacy casualty market. He will significantly strengthen our capabilities in this rapidly growing service line. David will play a key role in further developing our integrated legal and business services offering to this sector on a global basis.”
