Insurance intermediary Compare The Market is cooking something up to entice customers starting July, if reports are to be believed.
Called Meerkat Meals – consistent with its prominent mascot and existing cinema tickets scheme Meerkat Movies – the upcoming incentive programme is said to be a tie-up with discount card / diners’ club Tastecard. Citing a source familiar with the partnership, The Telegraph noted that customers who purchase a product or switch providers via the comparison website will enjoy “2-for-1” (two for the price of one) meals for an entire year on Sundays to Thursdays.
It added that the incentive will again apply for the same duration of 12 months when a site user makes another transaction.
According to the report, an estimated 4,000 restaurants are initially onboard with Meerkat Meals. Compared to Meerkat Movies, which offers 2-for-1 cinema tickets, the dining perk is available on more days of the week.
The new scheme, if it does roll out in July for the benefit of Compare The Market customers, is seen as a potential boost for restauranteurs who are facing tough times.
