WTW has made an announcement regarding the integration of its climate initiatives with the company’s risk & analytics capabilities under unified leadership.
In the face of climate risk emerging as a critical concern for businesses worldwide, WTW stated that it is redirecting its attention to leveraging the company's core strengths in risk and analytics, coupled with climate expertise, to aid clients in assessing, mitigating, and transferring climate-related risks.
Among global brokers, WTW pioneered in investing in climate analytics and is a distinguished advisor in managing both physical and transition-related climate risks. The company said that this initiative is designed to align more closely with the current surge in demand from clients, capitalising on the company's fundamental strengths.
As part of the development, WTW also named Peter Carter as its leader for climate practice.
“Clients are looking for ever greater support in understanding what climate risk means for their organisations. WTW has significant climate expertise, which combined with the company’s core risk and analytics capabilities and risk management strengths, makes us ideally qualified to help clients navigate this growing challenge,” Carter said.
Elsewhere for the global broker, WTW head of climate transition, climate, and resilience hub David Nelson also recently outlined the role of risk managers across industries for the net-zero transition.
