Not-for-profit network and multicultural inclusion advocate iCAN (Insurance Cultural Awareness Network) has launched a new insurance job board in hopes of attracting diverse talent to the industry.
With more than 70 roles listed from iCAN’s sponsors, the job board came to life as part of the network’s iCANApply initiative, the goal of which is to connect multicultural and ethnic minority talent with organisations across the UK.
“Our members tell us that they struggle to find roles in our industry, and we also hear from our sponsors that they struggle to attract diverse candidates,” said iCAN co-founder and co-chair Ajay Mistry. “iCAN wants to be part of the solution to this problem.
“We will support candidates with the skills, information, and opportunities they need to help them find their dream role in our industry, as well as working with our sponsor organisations to help them find talent they didn’t know existed.”
“It’s so important as an industry that we do all we can to attract and retain employees from ethnic minority backgrounds,” commented co-chair Kishan Mangat. “We haven’t always done a good job of this.
“iCAN is absolutely delighted to partner with so many organisations who also believe in our mission and are committed to taking practical steps to make this a more inclusive market to work in.”
Part of Inclusion@Lloyd’s, iCAN is an independent volunteer-run network founded in 2017. It has more than 3,500 members, to date.
