WTW has strengthened its insurance investment business with the appointment of Punil Chaubal (pictured) as its insurance investment advisory proposition leader in the UK. In this new role, in the firm’s Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) business, Chaubal will be based in London.
Chaubal joined WTW in June 2022 as an associate director. Prior to this, he also worked as a manager at EY, as well as an associate director for River and Mercantile.
According to his LinkedIn, Chaubal also worked at Aviva as a capital projects manager, in addition to various analyst and managerial roles at Direct Line Group. He also spent time at Lane Clark & Peacock, Generali, and NFU Mutual. Chaubal also served as a special constable with the City of London Police and the Metropolitan Police.
Chaubal’s appointment follows a string of senior hires in 2023 that have bolstered the scope of WTW’s insurance investment solutions and capabilities. These include Anthony Plotnek’s appointment to the firm’s recently combined private assets and capital management team.
In his new role, Chaubal will report to WTW UK and Ireland Life managing director Marcus Bowser.
“Over the past three years we’ve doubled the size of our insurance investment advisory business,” Bowser said. “This is a strategically important area for our insurance partners, and for this reason I’m delighted to appoint Punil to lead the team. As a renowned expert and thought leader on sustainable finance and investment, Punil will be a major asset as we continue to innovate and develop propositions that help our clients take advantage of emerging opportunities for profitable growth and invest for a more sustainable tomorrow.”
