Travelers Europe has been named a 5-Star cyber insurance provider for the second year in a row.
Chris McMurray (pictured), managing director of cyber at Travelers Europe, attributed the company’s success to consistency and client focus. “We’ve tailored our product to serve SMEs, mid-market businesses, and large corporations across various industries,” he said. “Cyber is a huge part of our growth strategy, and we’re always looking to improve.”
The Corvus acquisition has strengthened underwriting expertise by adding advanced risk assessment tools and expanding data-driven decision-making, enhancing Travelers Europe’s cyber insurance solutions. “We now have a team of 11 underwriters and a dedicated cyber risk control manager,” McMurray noted. “Our claims team operates 24/7, ensuring immediate support in case of a breach.”
The company has remained dedicated to innovation, enhancing its online quote and bind platform with Corvus’ scanning technology to streamline processes for brokers and clients. “We are focused on making trading with Travelers easier than ever,” McMurray explained.
Education is also a significant priority. The insurer has introduced an award-shortlisted cyber education toolkit to help brokers improve their knowledge and better communicate cyber risks to clients. “Better education leads to stronger protection for businesses,” McMurray said.
Despite market advancements, SME cyber insurance uptake has remained low due to factors such as lack of awareness, cost concerns, and misconceptions about risk exposure. “Many businesses still struggle to prioritise cyber coverage, but a breach can be far more costly than a policy,” McMurray warned. He advises brokers to challenge insurers to innovate, focus on the value of pre-loss services, and leverage training to better support clients.
Looking ahead, Travelers Europe continues to refine its cyber insurance offering, incorporating new technologies and coverage enhancements. “We are always evolving to stay ahead of emerging threats and provide the best possible service to our clients,” McMurray emphasised.
