It looks like UK insurer Saga is on a roll. The provider now has a new feature as part of its legal cover add-on for home insurance policies.
Announcing the launch of its personal cybercrime cover, Saga said the product will provide comprehensive protection against cyber risks on policyholders’ personal devices. The Kent-based firm cited growing cybersecurity concerns among its clientele.
“Previously insurers have responded to cyber risks in the commercial sector, but there was very little available for personal cover,” commented Simon Mcphee, head of Saga home insurance. “We are excited to be able to offer our customers a unique product, which has been developed to help with issues they have told us they have real concerns about.”
The add-on will provide access to expert advice in the event of a cyberattack; restoration, where possible, of electronic devices to their pre-breach state; and reimbursement of subscriptions to credit monitoring companies following a cyberattack. The legal cover also affords protection against identity theft as well as a fraud and scam helpline.
Similar personal cyber products have been introduced by the likes of Plum Underwriting, Hiscox, Arc Legal Assistance, and UK General.
