James Hallam, a subsidiary of the Seventeen Group, has launched a new cyber & technology Hub at Exeter Science Park.

The move expands James Hallam’s presence in the South West, with existing branches in Plymouth, Penzance, and Torbay, and now Exeter joining the network. The hub brings together a dedicated team to address the rapidly growing cyber and technology sector, assisting businesses facing complex risks.

The team at the new hub will collaborate with a robust panel of insurers to offer specialised risk management and insurance solutions to clients throughout the UK. The focus on cyber and technology reflects the increasing demand for expertise in these areas, where firms require significant support amid evolving threats and opportunities.

“This is a truly exciting prospect for myself and the team,” said cyber & technology risks director Steve King.

“Exeter has embraced the technology sector and supports the business community in so many ways. It felt right for us to be in the heart of it at Exeter Science Park, the South West’s centre for businesses in science, technology, engineering, maths, and medicine (STEMM).”

James Hallam is part of Seventeen Group, which recently acquired Gen2 Group.

“We will be building our presence in the Midlands in the years ahead using Gen2 to create a central hub,” Seventeen Group chief executive Paul Anscombe noted when the swoop was announced in July. “The business will be rebranding to James Hallam in due course.”

The Gen2 transaction came on the heels of Seventeen Group’s swoop for East Pennine Insurance Consultants (EPIC) in June.

“I am pleased to welcome the EPIC team,” Anscombe said at the time. “This is our first acquisition in Yorkshire and so represents a huge opportunity to build our presence going forward.”
