Coalition has appointed Rob Kanno as senior security support analyst at its UK security support centre. Kanno will report to Ryan Gregory, head of security support.

In a company statement, Gregory highlighted the role of the security support team in helping Coalition’s policyholders. “Coalition’s security support team is pivotal to our active insurance offering, helping policyholders understand cyber threats and take action to better protect themselves. The expansion of our team on the ground in the UK with bright, passionate talent like Rob indicates our commitment to servicing our customers and continuing to expand internationally. Rob arrives with considerable experience in the IT sector, and his decision to move into cybersecurity specialist roles is one policyholders will significantly benefit from,” Gregory said.

Kanno, based in Manchester, brings a robust background in IT. He began his career as a computer science teacher, a role he held for five years. In 2023, he transitioned to cybersecurity with e2e-assure, a threat detection and response firm, where he worked as a cybersecurity analyst and consultant.

A news release highlighted that Coalition has recently made several key hires as part of its expansion in Europe. Tine Simonsen joined as European head of insurance in October, and Matt Foster was appointed head of London Market in November.

In addition, in October, Coalition launched a “clawback” service, aimed at recovering funds stolen through cyberattacks, marking a first in the UK cyber insurance market. The service aims to help prevent cybercriminals from moving stolen funds by acting quickly within the banking system. Recently, Coalition recovered £1.4 million for a policyholder.

Coalition is a provider of active insurance that aims to prevent digital risks before they occur. It operates in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Germany.
