Chartered Insurance Institute website suffers downtime

The Chartered Insurance Institute’s (CII) website was temporarily inaccessible prior to this morning.

“Sorry,” read a CII statement, next to a “server error” message, on the professional body’s homepage in the early hours of November 28. “We are currently experiencing technical difficulties and are working to resolve this as soon as possible.

“If you need to contact the CII, please call customer service on +44 (0)20 8989 8464.”

No further information was provided at the time. The website is now back up.

In a separate development last week, Lloyd’s introduced multi-factor authentication for its applications. The move came following unusual activity on the Lloyd’s network in October.
