CFC has announced two senior promotions aimed at unifying its global cyber and proactive security operations.
James Burns (pictured above, left) has been appointed as global head of cyber, while Jason Hart (pictured above, right) takes on the role of managing director, proactive & global security services.
Burns, who has been with CFC for over 12 years, has played a key role in shaping the company’s cyber proposition. Over the past two years, he has led CFC’s cyber strategy. In his new role, he will oversee the company’s cyber strategy, underwriting, and sales teams across its global markets.
Burns said that CFC’s cyber team has expanded significantly in recent years, with personnel now operating across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
“By pulling all our different cyber strands together to create a unified global team, we can ensure a consistent approach across all the territories in which we operate and ensure we continue to deliver the very best products and services to our broker partners and their clients,” Burns said.
Hart, who joined CFC a year ago as head of proactive cyber, has over two decades of experience in cyber security and information security services. He will now lead CFC’s proactive and security teams globally, including Solis.

Hart said that the company’s proactive cyber and security teams in the UK, US, and Australia have played a significant role in preventing cyber incidents or reducing their impact.
“There is enormous potential in the cross-geographical expertise in these teams and creating a truly global operating model will enable greater transparency, collaboration and cross-pollination of knowledge and ideas, which we believe is critical to CFC’s continued growth,” Hart said.
CFC’s group chief executive officer, Louise O’Shea, described the company as being in a phase of growth, with new products and services being introduced across an expanding global presence.
“We have an incredibly talented team and James and Jason are both exceptional leaders. It is brilliant to see them continuing to develop their careers at CFC. I have no doubt that they, together with their teams, will go from strength to strength,” O’Shea said.
