AmTrust at Lloyd’s (ATL) has appointed Rachel Anne Carter as cyber innovation underwriter.
Carter, co-founder and manager of the
Journal of Terrorism and Cyber Insurance, will work with ATL’s cyber underwriting team effective immediately. Based in London, she will focus on product wording and educational initiatives, in addition to the team’s tasks of developing offerings and enhancing current products.
The new hire has worked with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, as well as the likes of Pool Re, Lloyd’s, and
Tokio Marine Kiln. Carter holds a PhD in insurance law and was a subject matter specialist for Cambridge University Centre for Risk Studies. Prior to her appointment, she ran a consulting business specialising in terrorism and cyber insurance innovation.
“I’m delighted to welcome Rachel to ATL,” said head of cyber Matt Northedge. “Adding her expertise and reputation to our team contributes to our ongoing plan to improve our range of products, respond to market and client demand in this area, and manage new and upcoming risks.”
For ATL chief executive Peter Dewey, the company’s latest hire – the third in recent months – is “another valuable asset” added to its growing cyber team. “This move represents further success in achieving our goal to establish AmTrust at Lloyd’s as the cyber centre of excellence within the AmTrust Group and as a leader in this developing field,” he said.
Northedge added: “As a relatively new team we seek to embrace innovation and be in the vanguard of product development within the market.”
