NMU has appointed former employee Amie Parsons (pictured) as development underwriter.
Based in Birmingham, Parsons returns after being with NMU from 2008 to 2012 as engineering underwriter. She left to work for
Allianz as senior construction and engineering underwriter in Australia, before moving back to the UK in 2015 and serving as new business underwriter and eventually business development manager at HSB Engineering Insurance.
Prior to her first stint at NMU, Parsons was assistant underwriter at
Zurich from 2002 to 2005, and was with Lorica Insurance Brokers as commercial account handler from 2007 to 2008. In her new role at NMU, she will support Birmingham region brokers and give them access to the provider’s full product range while specialising in engineering insurance.
“I’m excited to be back at NMU,” said Parsons. “The company has come a long way since I was here in 2012 and I’m looking forward to the opportunity of working with the team again, promoting NMU’s expanding range of innovative products and services.”
Executive director Nick Limb commented: “I am delighted that Amie has decided to re-join us after a few years away developing her career and she is back at an exceptionally exciting time for NMU.”
Limb said NMU’s engineering account has been successful over the past 14 years and continues to grow under parent firm
Munich Re. “We have brand new wordings and a major capacity boost coming for 2018, so Amie joining us could not come at a better time.”
NMU provides insurance solutions across a range of product lines including cargo, freight liabilities, marine trade, engineering classes, marine equipment, stand-alone terrorism, and motorsport. With 10 offices across the UK and Ireland, it employs over 100 specialist professionals.
