Manchester-headquartered Brawdia, a wholly-owned McLarens entity operating as a standalone business, has opened a second office in the UK. The new London office will be manned by senior high-net-worth (HNW) specialist Chartered surveyors James Featherstone and George Culbert.

Making the switch from Savills, Featherstone and Culbert will serve as senior associate director and associate director, respectively, at the insurance-focused building and construction consultancy. They will be in charge of leading Brawdia’s expansion in London and the Southeast.

“We’re six months on from launching the business, and I’m delighted that we are in a position to open a London office and expand our team with the appointment of two well-known and respected senior surveyors,” said Brawdia managing director Philip Barmby. “London and the Southeast are key markets for us, and we’ve seen significant growth in recent months.

“This summer’s flooding in the capital led to a notable spike in high-value claims work, particularly within the HNW sector. We’ve been working with some of the UK’s largest insurers and brokers, and we’re seeing growing demand for specialist insurance services within the building and construction space, with an increasing focus on issues such as sustainability and resilience.”

Featherstone, who brings 25 years of industry experience to Brawdia, will focus primarily on insurance-related fire and flood reinstatement works, repair and maintenance, and defects diagnosis. Culbert, meanwhile, has 11 years of experience as a building surveyor.

Brawdia’s new office is located in Euston House on Eversholt Street.
