Ride-hailing service provider Uber will start offering sickness and injury insurance to its drivers in the UK amid criticisms over its perceived lack of support to its motorists.
For £2 a week, Uber drivers who have completed 500 trips could purchase the insurance, which is supplied by the Association of Independent Professionals & the Self-Employed.
Drivers are also covered for up to £300 a week for a year if an accident occurs during a trip or while the motorists are logged into the Uber app.
In case of disability or death while working for Uber, drivers or their families can also claim up to £50,000, Business Insider UK reported.
