Broker Brightside Group has signed an agreement with an online van dealership network to sell commercial insurance through the company’s websites.

The deal will see Brightside offer Commercial Vans Direct (CVD) insurance through Newport-based Vans Direct and its two smaller companies, Van Man and best4vans, all three of which are direct, online van dealerships.

“This is an important account win for us with a leading UK van supplier, and we anticipate a significant increase in sales volumes as a result. Vans Direct customers will be able to access CVD through their websites or via a call to a dedicated Brightside CVD sales team,” Russell Bence, Brightside’s MD volume lines, said in a release.

Bence went on to say that Brightside has a strong track record in the van market, and called its commercial van insurance offering, “one of our hero products.”

“The agreement with Vans Direct is another boost for our CVD team and follows the re-launch of our mainstream van proposition, Brightside Van, on CDL Strata in 2016,” he said. “Our standard and specialist van proposition is a core part of Brightside’s drive to becoming a fully digital broker, and will enable us to meet our target of at least 10% UK market share in the next two-three years.”

Jane Pocock, MD of Vans Direct, added: “We are delighted to welcome Brightside as our new partner, and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship. It’s good news for the South West that two dynamic companies firmly established in this part of the world are joining forces.”
