Claims automation platform Sprout.ai has brought in Ian Thompson (pictured), former group chief claims officer at Zurich Insurance, as the first member of its newly formed growth advisory board.
Thompson will support Sprout.ai’s mission to drive innovation in insurance claims processing while improving customer experiences. His background in promoting AI-driven (artificial intelligence) solutions, digital transformation, and data analytics at Zurich makes him well-positioned to offer insights on both insurer needs and customer expectations.
In his new role, Thompson will contribute to shaping Sprout.ai’s product strategy and help guide its go-to-market initiatives, at the same time identifying new business opportunities.
Thompson commented: “I have seen the significant claims optimisation and customer benefits that Sprout.ai can deliver in my previous role. They offer leading-edge technology backed up by an experienced team with an impressive track record in deploying AI solutions for a range of insurance market clients.

With a career spanning three decades, including over 20 years in senior leadership positions, Thompson’s experience is extensive. At Zurich, he oversaw the performance of 8,500 claims staff across 200 markets. Additionally, he previously held transformation and operational roles at RSA.
