Evolution Claims Management has appointed insurance industry veteran Jim Pittman (pictured) as head of professional services to lead the company’s work on larger, more complex claims. According to a news release, Pittman brings extensive experience in loss adjusting and surveying to the role.
Pittman’s career in claims management spans senior roles across the insurance sector, including serving as claims director for Halifax Bank. He also led the UK launch and growth of Stream Claim Services as UK managing director. Recently, he returned to front-line claims work in the Middle East, assisting with major incidents such as the Beirut explosion in 2020, and has been involved in property claims in the UK.
Expressing enthusiasm about his new role, Pittman commented, “Evolution Claims has already established a reputation for using technology to disrupt the established market sectors and I believe there is a great opportunity to deliver high levels of technical expertise in a new cost-effective way. I’ve known managing director Russell Crewe for a long time, having previously worked together to deliver innovative claims services.”
Crewe highlighted the positive impact he expects Pittman to have, stating, “We are delighted to appoint Jim to his new role with Evolution Claims where I am sure he will have a positive impact as we grow the business and continue to deliver new standards of service for customers.”
The news release noted that Pittman’s appointment aligns with Evolution Claims’ focus on service innovation and workforce development. The company, which operates a fixed-fee model to keep costs consistent, has made strides in staff training, bringing in a talent development manager and supporting nine employees through management training. To further engage its workforce, Evolution Claims has partnered with Ambition HR, under the direction of Liz Cullis, to enhance its people development strategy.
Established in 2016 and headquartered in Oldbury, the firm has a technology-driven approach to claims management and building repairs, working with some of the UK’s top insurance brands.
