Evolution Claims Management has appointed Russell Crewe (pictured) as its new CEO, succeeding co-founder Darren Cooper, who has held the role since the company’s founding in 2015. According to a news release, Cooper will remain involved as a main board director.

Cooper said he is confident in Crewe’s leadership. “I am very proud and excited that someone of Russell’s calibre has joined the business. I now feel it is time for me to allow Russ to take the business forward as CEO through our next phase of growth,” Cooper said.

Crewe previously served as managing director of the company. He expressed enthusiasm for his new responsibilities, emphasising the opportunities ahead. “The acceleration of the business has been impressive under Darren’s leadership. There remain new opportunities for growth ahead of us, which we look to unlock with the support of Darren and the rest of the board,” he said.

Cooper co-founded Evolution Claims Management in 2015 after selling his previous claims management firm, LAS, in 2014. He has more than 20 years of experience in the sector.

Evolution Claims Management specialises in claims handling for UK insurance providers and has gained recognition for its use of technology in the industry.

In September, the firm announced it is enhancing its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives through a partnership with Sustainable Advantage, a carbon consultancy. Unveiled by Crewe, the collaboration aims to help Evolution Claims achieve its net zero targets by measuring greenhouse gas emissions, collecting and verifying data, and identifying strategies to reduce its carbon footprint.

“We are committed to operating in a sustainable and responsible manner as part of our long-term success and are now keen to reduce our carbon footprint,” Crewe stated.
