Crawford & Company has announced the introduction of a new working abroad policy for its employees in the UK and Northern Ireland.

The policy provides comprehensive guidelines for employees wishing to work outside the UK and Ireland on a short-term basis, offering a structured approach to managing the various aspects of such arrangements. It includes processes designed to ensure that employees maintain high standards of customer service while working abroad.

This policy is part of Crawford’s broader Smarter Working programme, launched in 2021 in the UK and Ireland, aimed at providing employees with more flexibility in managing their roles.

Under the new policy, employees will have the option to work from another country for up to ten days per financial year, provided they do so in a safe and secure working environment.

Andrew Bart (pictured above), president of UK & Ireland and CEO of International Operations, stated that the company is exploring new ways of working in an increasingly digitised world, with this new policy a milestone in that initiative.

“Through our Working Abroad Policy, we want our employees to be able to take advantage of the opportunity to travel to a different country while still fulfilling their day-to-day tasks from there. This introduces yet another level of flexibility into our Smarter Working program which we see as key to creating the best possible working environment for talent,” Bart said.

Elsewhere, the claims management specialist has confirmed the resignation of Lisa Bartlett from her position as COO of International Operations and president of UK & Ireland operations.

“We thank her for her contributions to Crawford and wish her well in future endeavours,” a statement read. “We will initiate a search for a new president of UK & Ireland that will include both internal and external candidates.”

Back in April, the company also unveiled a new Carers Policy and support framework for the company’s UK employees.

Crawford is also aligning the care of adult dependents with its parental leave policies by providing additional unpaid leave. The initiative guarantees that, during demanding times, employees do not have to choose between their careers and being present for their families.
